An email validation API can help you with your email verification needs. Whether you need to check one email at a time or bulk check email addresses on a list, an API provided by a professional email verification service can help you with that.

What is an API?

An API allows you to integrate a desired service anywhere you want on your own apps, websites, etc. It is definitely not something that basic users can use. In order to integrate it, you need to have coding skills. Some services provide detailed explanations on how to use their APIs but still, you will not make much sense of it if you don’t know what they are talking about.

API stands for Application Programming Interface. API’s make it easier to connect and integrate two or more different programs, apps or websites. Basically, your app makes a specific request to the server of the API provider, and then that server returns a value which you can use. Each API has its own rules and request codes.

Why do you need email verification API?

An email verification API, like this one, can help you in several ways:

  • On your website - If you are having trouble with a lot of spam registrations or sign-ups on your site, you can implement email validation. This will help you to weed out the spammers and the bots from the real people that want to sign up for your site. Also, this will help to prevent registrations with invalid or mistyped emails.

  • In your app - You can do the same things as explained above for the website, but do it in your application instead.

  • In your services - You can integrate the email validation service in your own services. In other words, you can white-label it and offer it as part of your own service and resell it for profit.

  • Custom solution - If you want a custom solution and functionality that is not built-in, you can have it by using the API. Of course, you are limited by the data which can be outputted from the provider.

Not all email verification services provide an API. You need to find the ones that do. In most cases, it is listed on their site. A good API provider will have all the information about the API and its integration in different platforms right on their site. There should be no need to log in, to ask for permission to see it or to manually request that info. Accessing the API documentation may not require an account or specific access, but in order to use the API, you will have to sign up for the service. Some services offer free accounts and trials. You can use those to test and implement everything you need.

Where to find email verification API?

Not all email verification services offer an API. First of all search in Google and try to find a reputable service. Check their website to see if there is information about their API. If there is, you are good to go, subscribe for their service and check their API docs for more details.
